Viaplay Cup Semi-final: Rangers v Aberdeen [15 January 2023]

Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-1 after extra time in the second Viaplay Cup semi-final, watched by 47,562 fans at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon.

Bojan Miovski gave Jim Goodwin’s men the lead in 41 minutes when he steered the ball past Allan McGregor after being picked out by Matty Kennedy.

In a compelling contest at the National Stadium, Ryan Jack equalised just after the hour mark when his low shot found the bottom corner with the aid of a slight deflection.

Aberdeen were reduced to 10 men in stoppage time when Anthony Stewart saw red for a late challenge on Fashion Sakala and Rangers took advantage in extra time.

With 94 minutes on the clock, Scott Wright cut the ball back for Kemar Roofe and his fellow substitute sent a first-time shot beyond Kelle Roos.
